Martin
"Red" Fredricks is a winner
of a 2008 Communicator
Award of Excellence for copywriting, a three-time
North Dakota Professional Communicators Sweepstakes
Award winner and concept developer / scriptwriter
for two Telly Award-winning videos.
His work also has earned numerous honors and awards from the National
Federation of Press Women, the Advertising Federation of Fargo-Moorhead,
District 8 of the American Advertising Federation, the Council
for the Advancement and Support of Education, and a national committee
of tobacco-cessation professionals affiliated with the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention.
But
that was yesterday; it's what we do today that's really important,
so –
Martin's
company, Fredricks Communications,
helps businesses and organizations effectively brand, advertise
and market themselves, their products, services and causes by
harnessing the power of words and combining them with customer
insights and creative ideas.
Before
launching FredComm in 2004,
Martin was a strategic planner, concept developer and copywriter
at GL Ness, an integrated marketing communications firm in Fargo,
N.D. Prior to that, he was a PR specialist and senior writer/editor
in University Relations at North Dakota State University; a public
information specialist on U.S. Sen. Byron L. Dorgan's staff; and
editor of The Courant, official weekly newspaper of Bottineau
County, N.D. In addition, his freelance stories and commentary
have appeared in local, regional and national publications.
Martin
and his wife, Cassondra, have three children and reside in West
Fargo, N.D.
